Makeup artistry and hairstyling were Maika’s destiny. And it’s quite frankly no surprise that she chose the path of film work. Maika is a 4th generation makeup artist in the film industry. Her great grandmother Margene Liddiard was VP of the Warner Bros makeup department. Her uncle Gary Liddiard and cousin Dennis Liddiard are both film makeup artists, so is her father started as a special effects makeup artist and is now in craft service.
In 2008 Maika started in the makeup department, hitting the ground running, day playing on several Disney Channel movies. Then later added hairstyling into her skill set. It’s always been a hard choice to pick which one she likes better, so why choose? She just simply does both.
Today Maika is a go-to for many, both by talent and producers/directors. Among the stars, Maika has worked with Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Moss, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Octavia Spencer, Helen Hunt, Ty Sheridan, Josh Hartnett & Common, among many more. Maika loves working and learning alongside the best in the industry. She attributes a lot of her success to being equally skilled in both hair and makeup and being professional while having an easy-going and chill energy that everyone appreciates.
